There is plenty of advice available on our Website and you can download our App which contains a huge amount of NHS resources.

You may be able to see your local community pharmacist under the common ailment scheme who can treat a number of conditions and provide a Free NHS Prescription.

Your local Optician may be able to help with any minor eye problems under the WECS scheme.

The practice offers a system of urgent on the day and also prebookable in advance appointments for patients to book.  Patients will be asked if they would prefer a face to face or telephone appointment.

The GP's have aked our reception team to take as much information as possible about your symptoms from you so that the team can direct you to the most appropriate service through Care Navigation meaning you'll not always need to be seen by a GP.  By our reception staff taking information about your symptoms also allows the GP's to make clinical decisions on the urgency of your medical problem and the order that the emergency appointments are seen.

Morning surgeries are by appointment only between 08:30 and 12:30 Monday - Friday.

Evening surgeries are by appointment between 15:20 and 18:00 Monday – Friday.

It is helpful if you could let us know if you need a longer appointment time - the standard time is 10 minutes. Reception is open all day from 08:00 until 18:30 Monday to Friday.

You can book a routine appointment in adavance if available either by telephone, by email to our practice email address, or you can register fr the NHS Wales app which is linked to our surgery, you will however need to ensure you notify us of your email address so that we can link it to your medical reord to enable you to use the NHS wales app. You can access this 24 hours a day to book an appointment that suits you. Please ensure the practice has your up to date mobile phone number to receive text reminders.

Sometimes a telephone call will avoid the need for a consultation. If you wish to speak to a doctor, please ring before 10:00 if possible.

Home Visits

Your doctor is happy to visit patients at home if their illness is such as to reasonably prevent them from attending the surgery. However, there are better facilities at the surgery for examination and treatment. Most ill patients, particularly children, can travel to the surgery without any harm.

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays).

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

The practice nurses clinics are by appointment only although we try to leave spaces for urgent problems.  The nurses are on duty from 08:30 – 12:30 Monday - Friday morning and 14:00 – 18:00 Monday - Friday evenings.

The HCA can do a wide range of procedures including dressings, injections, immunizations (B12), E.C.G’s, spirometry, health checks and advice on smoking, alcohol diet and exercise.

The practice nurses offer specialist clinics in chronic disease management and well woman; they are held at special times during the week and are by invitation only.

We sometimes have an academic fellow from University Hospital Wales working in the practice; you will be informed if your appointment is booked with him/her

In addition, you may be appointed to see a locum GP if doctor is on annual leave or off for any other reason.

It is the intention of the practice to be involved in training of doctors. This will mean that from time to time a medical student will be present with your consent.
